You can recognize a real biker by the way he/she chooses a bike. Buying the right bike is no easy thing and it requires a lot of attention and consideration. Let’s say that you find a bike that you like, it makes a perfect match for you style, physiognomy and preferences in terms of engine capacity and curve, yet you discover that sitting on it is pretty uncomfortable. They seem basic and trivial, but motorcycle seats are essential for your comfort and safety on the bike. Buyers don’t even know that the size of the seat could make a bike cheaper or pricier. Are you willing to pay the price?
People start considering motorcycle seats more seriously when they go on longer trips and they discover that your entire body aches after the ride. Cruisers certainly don’t come equipped with uncomfortable small chairs. For this very reason, bikers around the world choose to personalize motorcycle seats before anything else. There is no problem in changing the seat of a new and fully equipped bike so as to make it more suitable for the rider’s anatomy. This is the reason why custom motorcycle seats sell so well.
All sorts of modifications are possible. Use a finer or smoother leather type, change the sewing section and operate other kinds of modifications according to your intention. Depending on the rider’s needs, the one-seat chair can be swapped out and replaced with two chairs matching the exact same space. More cushions feel better, but you should not forget about all the options you’ve got. As it happens with all motorcycle accessories, the seats have to match the style, even if you perform customizations.
The handlebars, the frame, the wheels and the colors have to be matched with the motorcycle seats, in order to really render an artistic impression. It is up to the buyer to decide whether he/she wants custom motorcycle seats or he/she maintains the ones with which the bike comes ready equipped. In case you choose to make your bike from scratch, the DIY kits will include all the accessories and the parts necessary. Nevertheless, it is good to know that you can change the chair if you don’t like the one delivered in the kit.
There are lots of dealer shops and spare parts retailers where you can shop for new or second hand motorcycle seats. The prices vary depending on size, design, model and material. Sometimes several matches are possible and you have to decide for just one of them. Personal preferences matter a lot here.
