Restored car titles?

restore car
CH3RY1 asked:

I’m buying a PT Cruiser and I came across one that’s 2007 and is $8500 and has 14,400 miles. Apparently it’s in great condition overall except it has a restored title. How much extra would insurance be if you bought a car with a restored title?

  1. Insurance shouldn’t be higher. But aquring a loan will be more difficult. Do a car-fax on it!

  2. first off no tnere is no diff. on the insurance. but to let you know that a restored title is that the car was totaled out and was then fixed and taken to be approved to go back on the road. just thought i would tell ya. i work in a body shop and have for 18 years. depending on how bad it was hurt is to weather i would get it or not.

  3. Please don’t think me rude. I am just being honest. I would not buy a PT cruiser without a restored title much less one with a title that indicates prior damage. The PT is one of the worst cars to hit the road in the last few years. They have a horrible maintenance reputation and poor resale value. You would do well to avoid this car.
