RED spill on car carpet (grey). Used bleach, now the whole floor is yellow. How to restore the grey?
25th July 2008
mzjeanine asked:
Thought that if I put a small amount on bleach on the stain it would lighten up the spot. Well, the bleach soaked through the whole floor space and now a handsized stain is a puddle of yellow.
Is it repairable? Is there a place I can take it to have the carpet fixed?

The bleach has removed the dye and there’s no way to get it back. Ask the car dealership for advise. Otherwise get some craft dye and paint it on the stain. Maybe you can get it to match. Good luck.

I had much the same thing happen to me with a rug in my sons bedroom. I contacted a dry cleaner and they put me in touch with a guy who could actually dye rugs. It wasnt a huge spot about the same as yours and only cost me 50 bucks to have it looking brand new. You could try the car dealership or dry cleaners or rug places or even a paint store, any of them might now of someone who can dye rugs.
Good Luck

There will always be clueless people. Buy floormats.
