my granpa and uncle buy and sell cars and also do body work and restoration… my uncle found me a 1999 mustang for my parents. my parents got a good deal but little did they know that i’m friends with the kid they got it from. i found out that they took the tires off and put balled ones on it. they left all but one lug nut off of one tire, all the tires were too small, and all different sizes. also, when when we made the deal they said they’d fix a chip in the hood. well, my grandparents say that they will no longer fix the hood because i got my lip pierced. my mom is so upset because fixing the hood was part of the deal and because of the balled tires as well. we have put new tires, shocks, replaced blinkers, headlights, brakes, and clutch. my grandmother told my mom that if we ever sale the car to please give my uncle some of the profit since we got such a good deal. should i be upset with them? i’m dazed and confused and really don’t know what to think or how to take this.
the tires that my friend put on the car when he had it were new, and high performance made for the car. My grandparents and uncle replaced them with the balled tires that were all different sizes…

I looked at the colleges around my area. But the closest I found was an auto body class. They only work on cars 10 years and newer. I want to work on antique cars. I want to restore them. Do you have any ideals how I can find classes.

asked this question and got mixed reviews last time so i will ask it again. I will be graduating from college in december of 08 and already have a job lined up after school, i will be a cpa. My question is do i restore my 1994 300zx convertable, which is one of about 2000 left or buy a new 350z. I would spend about 25-30 thousand on the restoration. I plan on doing a simple ground effects package, nothing gotti. Rebuilding the motor with new twin turbo system wanting about 375 to the wheels. Add new interior, seats dash, plastic panels, carpet. I want to also add a new top. After that u want to upgrade transmission add a few performance parts to the amount of 2k and then new rims and tires, nothing gotti though. I want a tuner look, but with class, so i want to just make subtle changes to the body. Then to top it off do about a 6-7 k paint job. So so i buy a 30k very common car and add twin turbo or redo a rare care 100%. Either way i will have a cool car.
the 300zx is paid off already by the way.
why does everyone poke fun at my being an accountant, my car is rare and should increase in value with time. Look at muscle car, they once cost 3-5 thousand dollars, now some of them bring over a 100k. I dont expect for the car to be worth the money i put into right away, but in ten years it will be worth even more. Nothing is guaranteed in investing.

Of Course McCain’s would be a lot more than Sen. Obama’s. This is just to respond to the Repugnants claim that he has not done anything.

McCain had almost 30 years of chances to “CHANGE” the system, and now all of the sudden he’s the one who deliver it. C’mon let’s not fool ourselves!

Jack B asked:

I’m finishing up a restoration on an old Jag, completely blew the budget on the mechanics, and i’ve only got about $2-3 grand left to have it painted. The car is just going to be a driver, and not a show car, so I don’t need anything expensive, just something decent so it looks nice. I was thinking about taking to to Maaco, i’ve been told they actually do good work for cheap. The body is fairly straight, some door dings, very little rust, but some sanding will definitely be needed. Can I get a cheap paint job for $2000-3000? Is there anything I can do to to cut down on the prep costs? I don’t have much experience doing bodywork, but am not totally ignorant either. Thanks!
