the guy bought them all as a restoration project but never got around to it

the motor starts but theres problems like brake doesnt work, high reves when you start it and rust and stuff

mum says that it could be stolen, i never checked the vin but why would he try selling it on ebay and he has all these other ones

its just that 50 for a car thats body is it decent condition and motor kicks over seems too good to be true

Viper/Restoration Project?

I have this crazy idea… What if you were to buy an old car, (late 60’s early 70’s muscle car), and put a viper engine in it? I have seen quite a few older muscle cars, selling with no engines, and in need of some body/interior work, selling for under a grand. How hard would it be to swap a viper engine (1994 probably…), into the older car? You can find these engines, with transmissions, for about $4000-$7000, depending on mileage. Would this be possible? I have never restored a car, but I have family members who would be willing to help me…
Thanks much, I look forward to seeing some answers here!
***BTW- I’m not looking to completely restore this car, just put a new engine setup into it, and slap some new seats in it. The car I’d be getting has a decent interior, needs paint, and has no engine/transmission with it. I was just wondering if it would be easy enough to slap the Viper engine in it…
But thanks for the answers so far, I am by no means an expert on this subject, and I have no wife or neighbors to worry about!

I’m writing a story, and I want one of my characters to have a restored classic car. What are some of your favorites?
If possible, give me a link to a picture of the car, so I can make a formal decision. (I’m not too car savvy, so I can’t picture the car in my head like some people can! lol)

Thanks in advance!!

i’m not looking for a text book restoration. i want to take this beautiful classic car and modernize it. update the ammenities and technology while keeping the integrity of the design.

i want to give it a new effecient engine and transmission and also incorporate a digital interface to monitor liquid pressures, temperatures, levels, diagnostics and also estimates of EPA, fuel consumption, SatNav, CC etc [just normal everyday luxuries on our cars].

So does anyone know of any good information sources or businesses with experience in this kind of restoration?

I obtained alot of pieces and parts that I know make a complete Vespa (not like I remeber them looking like) Piaggio (just like the advertisements of the 70’s looked) Grande (which I’m told ‘in this configuration’ is rare in the U.S.) plus it has a side-car. Puch exploded views, hop-up kits, pieces/parts are easier found so far (I have a Murray Moped with a Puch Motor) but I want to restore my Vespa Piaggio first. I need a piston & ring set to get it running although there are many other things (parts wise) I hope to find, like correct decals etc., which would be great to locate. I also haven’t identified the side-cars origin but it looks factory made. I owned this scooter w/side-car for 1 hour before I was talked out of it and it was in 1 piece then (so to speak) so the bright side is that…….well, I’m not sure what the bright side is yet but with your help I’ll find the information I need and a place to order parts for THIS BEAUTY before I get talked out of it again! Thank You!

a friend of mine was injured very severally in a car wreck yesterday. she has serious head injuries and many broken bones and will require almost a total ****** restoration. she lives over 1,000 miles away so there is no chance of me to visit her. her roommate told me it will be a week or more before she can have visitors anyway. whats worse is a very close friend of hers was driving the car and he was killed in the accident. im sending her a card but i really want to write something other than just the typical ( get well soon ). i just want to write something short and not a big long emotional letter. but i want her to know that i really am wishing her the best, i dont know if i should bring up her friend though, she has alot of recovery to do and i dont want to sadden her anymore than she probably already is. she is in what the hospital called ( guarded ) condition. i dont know if that is the same as critical but i know her injuries are very severe. any suggestions would be great.
some of you on here may know her. her name is kelly woodman. she is known as redneck woodman here on yahoo answers and the internet. if any of you want to read the news article about her type in www.auburnian.com

I’m restoring a car and I’m working on the wheel housing, I’ve sanded most of the rust off, if i has to say how deep the rust is i would say a 1mm, the problem is it is impossible to sand around some of the bolts, i could take the bolts out but this will completely drop the frame to the floor, which i do not want. would sand blasting be my best option. i’ve been told it will completely rip holes through the sheet metal but I’ve heard a lot of sucess on the net from people who have done this. thanks
