me and my dad are thinking of doing a car project over the summer and so on, just kinda like father/son bonding time. and im trying to decide on a car to rebuild/restore. any suggestions? me and my dad both are big fans of the muscle cars from 1966-72. also what car would have the best value after restoration? (not that were gonna sell it, but its nice to know it was worth the money putting into it in the long run)

Thank you and God bless!

oh and if you have some advice on “Street Beast” inc. i would love to hear your feed back on them!

Im 15 and over the past year I’ve been studying cars and now know alot about them and how to fix them. I’m also very good with my hands and can handle responsibility. Now my dad on the other hand doesnt know that much about cars, but what cant you learn on the internet.

I wanna by an old car and restore it in our garage so that when I get my license I can drive it. My mom would let me use the garage, but how can I convince my dad to let me do this and to help me with it.
Believe me I have tried everything.

Restoring a classic car has been a dream of mine since I was a child. I’m about to go off to college so I thought that restoring my dream car would have to wait. Well, my mother told me today that she’s letting me keep my car there (one I find one) and when I come home on breaks I’ll be able to work on it. I’m going to school several states away so bringing the car up there with me just isn’t realistic. I’m pretty new to all of this so any tips on finding and restoring a car would be greatly appreciated. I’m very eager and excited to learn.
I’m definitely not in a rush. I was planning on working on it little by little when I’m able to come home from school during breaks and then however long after it’ll take.

I’m buying a PT Cruiser and I came across one that’s 2007 and is $8500 and has 14,400 miles. Apparently it’s in great condition overall except it has a restored title. How much extra would insurance be if you bought a car with a restored title?

with 220,000 miles on it. i absolutely love my car! it outlast 4 jobs and one marriage! :) and still runs like a champ!
i am considering a complete restoration, i don’t want to “soup it up”, just want to restore its old glory, any idea ball park $$$ to do that? and where is the specialty for such project? i live in L.A.
thanks guys! for all the great suggestions!
additionally, the uphostery – seat surface, can i get those done as well? or i need to replace it with new seats?
Last, is there a place specialized in such job? if i bring the car in, i tell them what i want to do, they will give me an estimation and take care of everything?
I live in Los Angeles, any reccomendations?

There are several magazines out there on almost every subject. I have become interested in car restorations and hot rod builds, mostly old 60’s and 70’s classics. I already have one issue of Popular Hotrodding in which the cover article was Build Your First Engine: Save money and wrench it yourself, but it only went so far. I want to learn how to rebuild a car, engine, how to do metal work, paint work, dealing with rust, interior work, ect. Pretty much everything that goes into (re)building a car. Though I know it takes a lot of practice, it’s the money that’s hindering me from getting my hands dirty. So as long as I can read up on some literature and get a good idea in my mind of what to do and how to do it I’ll be a happy camper. If any one has any other suggestions on how to get into the hobby, despite I don’t have a car to rebuild, please let me know. I’m open to almost anything right now.

PS: Maybe motorcycles would be a better place to start if money was such an issue?
