We had a car restoration business. We have had a very old truck that we were restoring, but have been unable to find the owner for in years. His business has closed, his phones are disconnected, all mail has been returned to us with no forwarding address. He paid us for some of the work, but we have no way of contacting him regarding the completion and now we have closed our shop. We can no longer store this vehicle as we are downsizing. Can we file a mechanics lein? I am unsure about the registeration? It is a 1927 Chevrolet truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced the battery in my 1993 Saab 900 Turbo in the dark….I accidentally reversed polarities at the cables but quickly disconnected and corrected them….the car then stumbled to a start, seemed to sort itself out and I have had no further problems with it.

However, the brand new OEM Clarion AM/FM cassette deck and separate Clarion console mounted EQ went completely dark….

I am hoping for a blown fuse somewhere in line but nothing in the owners manual or Hayne’s Saab Repair book says anything about it’s location….I hope I am not SOL with this part of my restoration.

I have a 2 door accord with pretty bad paint. The clear coat has pealed and the paint looks dull.

Is there any way I can restore my car’s paint without paying for a new paint job?

Thanks!
Perhaps I could buff it with wax and take it somewhere for clear coat?

I have an 84 Jimmy I know where to get all the parts but how much would labor cost to weld and paint it be?
Well thank you for telling me that it would cost a lot. But what if money were no object and you don’t like new cars with all there cra#@y features. This vehicle has sentimental value and is something I have wanted to drive since I was 8. LMC truck sells body panels for the truck and It would cost about 2500 for parts. I just have no clue how much they charge for a descent paint job or what it would cost to have the parts welded together.

I have two classic muscle cars very rare and very flashy
both are in need of some restoration new paint the motors run strong but could use a going through
the thing is I’m semi retired now and on disability and we both know nothing is cheap on a classic car. my question is does anyone know of a real business(s) who would rent/lease space on my car so I can fix them up. as I’m semi retired I’m free to show up at events as well as crusing select malls colleges etc…
PS said cars are a 86 Formula 500
and 59 T-bird with the 352 however the T-bird needs a lot of work to make it show qual…

I have this crazy idea… What if you were to buy an old car, (late 60’s early 70’s muscle car), and put a viper engine in it? I have seen quite a few older muscle cars, selling with no engines, and in need of some body/interior work, selling for under a grand. How hard would it be to swap a viper engine (1994 probably…), into the older car? You can find these engines, with transmissions, for about $4000-$7000, depending on mileage. Would this be possible? I have never restored a car, but I have family members who would be willing to help me…
Thanks much, I look forward to seeing some answers here!
***BTW- I’m not looking to completely restore this car, just put a new engine setup into it, and slap some new seats in it. The car I’d be getting has a decent interior, needs paint, and has no engine/transmission with it. I was just wondering if it would be easy enough to slap the Viper engine in it…
But thanks for the answers so far, I am by no means an expert on this subject, and I have no wife or neighbors to worry about!

the car originally had a 409 ci motor. it still has the 409 emblems but has a 350 4 bolt main in it now. the car hasn’t been restored yet but is in really good condition. it has a very little cancer on quarter panels and a little on the hood. it also has a muncie 4 speed ****** and car runs. other than that, body is straight. is the car worth $3500 without the 409 and with a 350? if so where can i find a 409 to try to keep it as original as possible? i would greatly appreciate help on this matter!
