I am in MA. The car is in pretty good shape. I had it running then it stopped running and then some girl hit the door and ripped it off when I was about to get out of it. I need it gone and I was wondering if I should sell it for parts or restoration or sell it to a junkyard.
I know its a piece of history and honestly my favorite car. Junking it is the equivalent of shoting a deer and letting the meat spoil. At this point I might have to pay for the damage to the girls car since I just bought mine and didn’t have it insured. I am royally f&cking broke is the problem and need money now.

Car Restoration?
17th February 2008
If you were to make an estimate-
How hard would it be to restore a car myself?
How much money, on average, would I be spending?
The car in question is a VW Beetle.

Where to file a lawsuit?
12th February 2008
You own an automobile restoration and body shop business. You restore antique cars for individuals and companies. Recently you completed a project where you restored three classic 1965 Ford Mustangs for a wealthy owner in Oregon. You did all the work at your shop in Lincoln, Nebraska. Last week you delivered the restored vehicles to the owner and sent an invoice for $82,000 for your labor and materials. Today you received a call from the owner stating that he was dissatisfied with your work and that he would not pay your invoice. You are furious (of course) and you plan to hire an attorney and file a lawsuit against him for payment as soon as possible. Where can you file your lawsuit? Do you have to file it in Oregon?
I just need to know options..
Matt
I currently own a ‘79 Trans Am. It is a solid rust-free car with numerous options and nice paint, but it’s in need of a new engine (rod knock). I’ve been considering selling it off and buying a classic Chevrolet Pickup from 1963 to 1970 (i’m aware the body style changed from ‘63- ‘66 to ‘67-’70, but I like both styles).
I know the history of the Firebird, it would be a fairly easy restoration if I could find the time and money, but I could combine two hobbies of mine if I swapped it for a older pickup because in addition to a love of classic vehicles, I’m an avid ATV rider and it would be kinda neat to have an old truck to haul my quad.
BUT – would I wind up regretting a move like that? It seems like the value of Trans Am’s jumped up quite a bit, and classic cars in general seem to outvalue classic trucks. Any opinions?

Some help with car restoration please?
10th February 2008
I want to restore cars for a hobby. Im not talking about building cars from scrap (ie, buy the frame and work from there), im talking about buying a notable car and doing a frame-off restoration (or somthing close). I know a lot about car makes and models (everything notable from the 60s to present) but the problem is, i dont know anything about how to restore/ fix them. So the question is where do i start?
ps: for my first project im looking at a 95 850 csi for 16k, its in pretty bad shape from the looks (bad interior paint, no bumps, doors shut, no rust, everything else seems to be fine), it runs and all but the engine sounds out of shape, should i buy it? or can n e 1 recommend another car?
