What newer car will make a good Classic car in 20 years?
29th February 2008
I have a white 97, 4door, 6cyl Chevy Lumina with 55000 miles in perfect condition. its been sitting for about 6 years.
Will this car make a great classic to restore in about 10-15 years.
If so when restoring is complete how much do you think it will be worth???

Reproduction of rubber parts?
25th February 2008
I’m trying to reproduce rubber parts for an antique auto. These small parts, which are basically bumpers, are no longer available so I’m trying to make them but once I form them they have a very rough appearance after cutting, grinding and sanding. Is there any way to make them look like molded semi shiny parts that are available for other cars from restoration suppliers other than to apply a coating of Armor All or similar products which only last a short time?
In response to SkyPilot, first of all thanks for your input, my car is a 36 Dodge. Can’t find trunk prop arm bumper repoduction. Also had to shave trunk closing bumpers from Steele Products to get trunk to close. Asking this question also for others I know to see if there is a way to get a nice finish after reshaping or reproducing a part from blank rubber or reproduced rubber parts that won’t quite fit .

how much should I expect to spend on classic car interior restoration?
24th February 2008
I currently have a 1968 Pontiac Firebird in the process of being restored on the exterior. I am looking to restored its interior as well (new seat covers, carpeting, door panels, dash), would anyone know how much est. this project would run? And about how much would a really impressive paint job for the exterior run for?

I have no previous experience of working with cars but I have a real enthusiasm for knowing how they work. Can anyone recommend the best way to get into this area of work? I should definitely mention I am still at school but I’d be able to work weekends…thanks.

If you could own and restore one car from the 1950’s, what would it be?
20th February 2008
Instead of just a car, lets broaden the answer to anything motorized that you can take on a public roadway. Cars, trucks, bikes.
