timinks asked:

I recently bought a used car, and paint job and finish are nice on sides but very oxidized on roof and hood areas. I was wondering if there are any certain waxes, polishes, or chemicals that work best for restoring severe cases such as these. I have tried a few top brand waxes, to no avail. Any help or suggestions on this matter, would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking to install new and better sounding speaker’s. But if I do, I would have to cut the wires to get them to fit. Would this mess up my plan to restore the car to original specs? Or is there a place out there I could but a hook up kit so I don’t have to cut and splice the wire’s. I a running a 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.

Specifically, a 1969 or 1970 Dodge Charger.

Personally, I’d like to find myself one hidden away in some barn that I have to tow home and spend a summer on, but I was wondering if anyone had any general comparisons to offer between that approach and simply buying one in top condition.

Which would be more expensive, and by how much (on the average)?

No matter which way this goes, I’m more inclined to make one purchase at a time as I get this thing together by hand, but I’m still curious.

I’m in South Carolina and have a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. I’m trying to decide if I should restore it (there were only 400 of these cars). I need to talk with someone who can restore this vehicle, preferably close to South Carolina.

I want to make the suspension of my car a lot better. I want my car to ride like new. I am going to replace shocks, ball joint, and sway bar bushings, etc. Should I go ahead and drop it too? I know for a fact that my type of car can not restore the camber to original factory settings. This means that my tires aren’t going to last long. Would you drop it?

my granpa and uncle buy and sell cars and also do body work and restoration… my uncle found me a 1999 mustang for my parents. my parents got a good deal but little did they know that i’m friends with the kid they got it from. i found out that they took the tires off and put balled ones on it. they left all but one lug nut off of one tire, all the tires were too small, and all different sizes. also, when when we made the deal they said they’d fix a chip in the hood. well, my grandparents say that they will no longer fix the hood because i got my lip pierced. my mom is so upset because fixing the hood was part of the deal and because of the balled tires as well. we have put new tires, shocks, replaced blinkers, headlights, brakes, and clutch. my grandmother told my mom that if we ever sale the car to please give my uncle some of the profit since we got such a good deal. should i be upset with them? i’m dazed and confused and really don’t know what to think or how to take this.
the tires that my friend’s dad put on the car when he had it were performance tires, and were brand new.
