Body rust + ceiling cloth restoration?
30th September 2007
I just bought an ‘84 Buick Riviera to drive whenever I feel like being afloat
The body’s also got some rust; again the rust is still on the surface and hasn’t made its way through yet. What’s the cheapest way to get these restored? Is sanding/primering/painting the only option?
The ceiling cloth of the car is kinda falling (I’ve seen it happening to almost every old american car). How would I go about fixing it? Do I need to cut the edges and glue it from inside? If so then how would I glue it and etc?
Thanks in advance for any useful advice.

Triumph Spitfire Restoration and Rebuild?
25th September 2007
I am interested in purchasing a Triumph Spitfire (1967-1979) but I do not know that much about the car itself, nor how much a nearly full restoration would cost (minus engine and drive train), or where to get the parts. Any and all information will be appreciated.

My truck has a dull finish and a white almost milky appearance to it. Its a 2001 so, it should have a better finish. The milky finish is slight but prevents it from getting it where it should be. There are several waxes on the market that clam to restore a dull finish, but with there being so many I would like to hear from someone who has experience with some of them.

How can I get into restoring classic cars?
23rd September 2007
I have always been fascinated with classic cars and was curious how someone got into restoring them as a part time hobby. I have NO experience whatsoever with building or even repairing cars but I really want to learn. Just from doing basic research it seems VERY complicated (bent frames, rusted steel, missing original parts etc…). Any ideas on how to begin? How much would an initial investement on necessary/required tools run?

Can I use a standard storage unit to work on my car?
22nd September 2007
I have a classic car that needs restoration and the family garage is way too small. I need a space to work on it. Do most storage companies allow it?

1967 camaro roll caged + centerlinked value?
20th September 2007
I know a guy with a 67 camaro that has a roll cage installed(done well), and had the quarters replaced. unfortunately, they have planned on it for a drag car and have gutted the doors to where the outer shell is whats left, they have cut the dash off, but the guy has a whole new one, including the firewall (which wasnt cut on the 67) and he has a title with that. only rust left is basically 2 coin sized wholes(1 behind where the driver seat would go, 1 in the trunk) and some surface rust under the hood, etc. There is no interior and the rear end has been centerlinked, but has no gears. no ****** either..however, the guy is including a 75 chevy truck with a cadillac 500 big block motor which has 0 miles since the rebuild that actually will bolt right up with out any mods to the camaro. he was going to use the trucks wiring harness as well. he says the rest of the truck is pretty junky except for the bed which is diamond plate. it currently has a ****** in it, but its weak. oh and the people somehow cut and modded the k frame to be able to support more weight I believe.
I want to see what all of this is worth and how I could get the most out of it. I dont want to restore the camaro(i am already working on a 68) so the camaro probably needs to stay drag. Since the guy only wants 1800 for everything and I can probably get it for 1500, I figure I can probably make some money which will help fund the restoration of my 68. Would it be better to put the cadillac 500 and wiring harness in the camaro and make it a drag car, or sell them separate…is this not even a good investment? what do you think?

My car has fading paint pretty badly. It looks like it needs a clearcoat on the faded spots. What can I do to restore this paint and make it look as good as the rest of the car?

I have visited some websites that offer car retorations on muscle cars, exotics, ext. Is car restoration a good buisness to start these days because I have always wanted to own my own buisness some day. And how much does an average car restoration shop charge for a single car? Is it hard to start? Any answere is appreciated
