I am restoring a 62 Chevy Truck. I have looked in catalogs for this particular part and cannot find it. I am looking for the hinge/bracket that the glove box door attaches to. The cardboard glove box also slides into 3 clips on this bracket. I can find the glove box and all other parts to it except this bracket. Is there any special heading to look under, or is there any special catalog that has more items than usual?

Thanks

I have a 73 and a half (CIS) 911T and would like to know how to maximize the value of the car.

Some facts:
1. Car has a reconstructed title – damage was apparently to the deck lids and glass at the time. The car is straight as an arrow.
2. The rear fenders have been flared.
3. The car has a 74? rear spoiler.
4. The car does have a working sunroof.
5. There is no rust on the car anywhere.

Other than mentioned, the car is original. I have replaced a lot of stuff in the car over the years and mechanically it is in tip top condition and a blast to drive. The only thing currently lacking on the car is some cosmetic interior work (door pockets etc).

Is it worth keeping as much of the originality as is left in the car intact, or because of the title should I just go ahead and modify the heck out of it? Seats, door skins, suspension & brake upgrades? Or even turn it into a strictly track or race car? What would maximize the value if I ever sell it?

Hi, does any one know if there are any websites or people out there who are car enthusiasts who like to just restore old cars for free?
I know that there are people out there who do it, One of my dads best friends used to do it all the time, but he then died. It is a very rare Vauxhall Magnum 2300 coupe.

Thank you richard, i think my dad is part of that already, and droop soop club and a few others, he has a mk2 cavalier cd, totally brilliant car uses it for everything and still puts it on show at billing

Does anyone know the name of a really good restoration shop that restores everything for older muscle cars?
It’s for a friend, although we can’t remember the name, the shop does restoration from the floorplan up, including every nut and bolt… I know it’s expensive, but if he is willing to pay for it, why not…. =P

Im thinking of buying this 1967 Ford Mustang GT from a friend. The only problem is the car is a complete dust bunny!!! Nothing works and the body looks like its been chewed up and spat back out. Lol. But it is one of my dream cars and i have no problem paying for it to be restored…im just not comfortable shipping it halfway across the country.

Any suggestions will do. Thanx.

Heres a scenario… Lets call the firm “Re-Cars”

“Re-Cars” are based in the UK and specialise in the restoration of classic cars. The cars are sourced in the UK and a purchased cheaply from a PRIVATE individual, ((where recipts do not show vat)) The company also purchases lots of materials and tools to restore the cars ((recipts show VAT))..

The vehicles sell from the forecourt.

The Company sells ALOT of cars, so much so the TURNOVER is in excess of £150,000 per year, so the company is forced in to bieng VAT Registered.. Hurray…

Now the tricky bit… Because the company is VAT Registered.. Do the Cars Sales invoices have to show the VAT?

I had a rebult engine put into my car, 1991 Mitsubitshi 3000GT. I paid $3500. With it I had hoses replaced and the oil pump. Less than 3 months and less than 1000 miles the head gasket blew again. My car has gauges and sensors, none came on until the last min. When the tow truck picked it up it had no water in it, they put water in it and there was no leaks. Where did the water go? SInce it was a new engine, I checked the oil and water before driving it, and I watched the gauges. I am restoring this car, and the engine was the last thing that was needed. It is under warrenty for 3 years or 30,000 miles. Who is at fault on this amount of money and parts?

What do the car experts think? I have a car that has the original engine and drive-train still in it, I believe. I would like to restore the car to look as it did in 1973 straight out of the factory. The question is, should I restore it to exact specs (standard seats, standard doors, ginger interior with gold glow exterior, etc..) and what ever else came with my car? Or…. Should I restore it with all the bells and whistles that would have been offered that year (ie. mach 1 seats, deluxe doors, deluxe consoles, map light, etc..)?

What would help a car not burn so much gas when running the air conditioning? In other words, if the gas consumption is awful with a (let’s just say) 307 c.i.d. engine will it “NOT” be so bad with a 350 crate motor (tuned for a nice output of horsepower) or a restored Cadillac 500 c.i.d. engine?
What are the variable specifics on whether or not an a/c compressor (or system for that matter) will take a considerable toll on a car fuel tank and mileage?
I just figure it was some kind science to the whole thing.
