car restoration
sickcuda asked:

Hey, I have a 1973 Plymouth Cuda. I sent it to a restoration shop to have it restored. It has been there since February 2007. He said it would take 6 months to 12 months to complete the restoration (it also says that on my receipts) and it is still not done. He closed his shop in September of 2007 and moved the car to his house to finish it. I have been calling and calling and I get no answer. I am not sure what my rights are or what I can do. I payed him over $6000 cash already (I do have the receipts). What should I do? Should I sue him? If so, how? I really love my car to death and I want it back, I just need some advice on what I should do to make this work out in my favor. Thanks.

Omer

  1. sue him…if you try to just take the car he can put a lein on it or even have you arrested]…if your papers say it will be done in a year a you will win

  3. If you know where he lives go and talk to him. Bring a friend for a witness. Restoring a car takes a long time when you are doing it at home. However a good mechanic who takes his time will do an excellent job. My car took 2 1/2 years.

  4. This is my opinion,You can take all the advice you get,but ‘YOU’ have to live with your decision either good or bad!
I would request an answer as to his intentions toward the completion of my vehicle in a Registered and Notarized letter, This letter is only a Proof of contact on your part and gives you a ‘date stamp’ that you have contacted him. This will also let you/him know that you have given him notice that you can persue ‘LEGAL’ options that are already open to you. This is also a ‘last and not threathing’ effort of contact, asking for information that you really need.
Like I said, take all the advice you get,But this is your decision and you have done your part and been very patient!
    GOOD LUCK!!

    “BRILLIANT”!!!!
