buying a restored car?

why is it bad to buy a used car thats been restored or in a wreck?
I brought a car im thinking about buying to my mechanic, he said it looks like part of the hood has been painted

the car i currently drive was hit and fixed and i havent had a problems since

  2. R titled vehicles generally have a lower re-sale value for obvious reasons. If your going to drive it till it dies go for it.

  3. When a car has been in a wreck where the frame is damaged. It is bad, even if they fixed it.

    This is because the frame has gotten weaker. If you crash again, the frame and metal would bend or break easier than before.

    So the resale value goes down.

    Restoring a car is like buying an old broken car with lots of rust and rebuilding everything and buying new bodypanels to make it look and drive like a brand new car.
